Match data

CaRMS’s published figures for the 2026 R‑1 match and the FM/ES match, and what a resident’s salary and a one-bedroom rent are in the cities with the most programs. They describe last year’s match, not anyone’s chances. Confirm figures on carms.ca (opens in a new tab) before you rely on them. Looking for programs? Browse R‑1 programs.

These describe last year’s match, not anyone’s chances. They count only applicants who ranked a discipline first: people who chose not to apply, or applied and got no interviews, aren’t in them. That’s why the ratios can look easier than the specialty feels.

FM/ES match statistics, 2025

CaRMS’s published results for the 2025 FM/ES match, by discipline. Counts as CaRMS reports them, not odds: a vacant position says nothing about whether you would match. In 2025: 308 applicants ranked, 357 positions, 263 filled.
